Showit is beautiful. Drag anything anywhere, inspiring templates, a real designer feel.
And then there's the phone version. In Showit you design it again, by hand, page by page. Change something on the computer, and you go fix the phone too.
By Aliya, founder of Big Cat. Prices checked on each official page: 30 Oct to 2 Nov 2026. Big Cat is ours, and it's in this list: judge it harder than the others.
If you're looking for a way out, it's usually one of these:
- "The phone version takes my evenings." Most people see your site on their phone first, so it can't be skipped.
- "It's a lot for one website." US$22 a month paid yearly, $27 month to month, and more with the blog plans.
- "I want the freedom, not the work." You loved placing things anywhere. You just want it faster.
Aliya's take: I loved Showit. Really. But the phone version by hand, I hate it. It's insane.

What matters most if you're leaving Showit: who does the phone version. Only Big Cat and Squarespace do it fully for you, and only Big Cat also lets you place things where you want.
Prices: the cheapest plan for one site on your own domain, from each official page, in the currency it showed us. Showit's blog plans cost more: US$27/mo yearly with the Basic Starter Blog.
1. Big Cat (ours): the Showit feeling, with the phone version done
How it starts: from a design you love. Any website that gives you chills, a screenshot, your Pinterest board, or your own Showit site. Big Cat reads its feeling (proportions, type, space, mood) and builds your site with your own words and photos. It never copies the site you showed it. After: drag anything anywhere, or ask the cat by voice or text ("make the title bigger", "put my photo on the left"). Phone version: done for you, every time you change something. Inside: a brand strategist that writes in the tone you choose and adds the legal pages. Price: €12 a month, or €60 every 6 months (€10 a month). 7-day free trial, no card. Your own domain. Where it hurts: we're new, so fewer apps than the big names. One website, up to 10 pages, on the first plan. Not for a big shop.
Aliya's take: it's what I loved in Showit. I start from something inspiring and move things where I want. But the phone version is done for me. Finally.
Try it: paste your Showit site, or one you love →
2. Squarespace: polished and hands-off
Phone version: automatic. It follows your computer layout, with little control. Price: €14.40/mo yearly on Basic (EU page). Better than Showit at: ease, a built-in shop, looking good without effort. Not as good at: freedom. You move blocks on a grid, so many sites look alike.
Aliya's take: amazing, absolutely. But for one website it was always too expensive for me.
Full comparison: Showit vs Squarespace.
3. Wix: free placement and lots of tools
Phone version: Wix makes one for you, then you tidy it in a separate phone editor. Price: about US$17/mo yearly on Light. Better than Showit at: tools: store, bookings, email, all in one place. Not as good at: calm. Lots of menus, and once a site is live you can't switch its template.
Aliya's take: Wix was my first. For me it was clunky, and things I moved kept jumping back.
4. Framer: for designers who want motion
Phone version: you set breakpoints and adjust the layout for each screen size. Faster than Showit, still your job. Price: US$10/mo yearly on Basic. Better than Showit at: modern motion and animation, and a lower price. Not as good at: ease. It's a design tool, made for people who design.
Aliya's take: way too complicated for me, even if it has great potential.
5. Webflow: the professional's tool
Phone version: breakpoints too: styles flow down from the computer, and you fix what breaks. Price: US$15/mo yearly on the Basic site plan. Better than Showit at: strong SEO, content collections, sites that grow big. Not as good at: learning time. Most people hire someone who knows it.
